Today…

we went to a birthday party for Katie in Red Boiling Springs at the park.  Peanut had a great time and ran her legs off.  Hopefully, she will sleep well tonight.  We left Shane and Lowe at home mowing the yard. dsc_0022

I’m a little behind on blogging.

I just realized that I did not blog at all in March.  So here is the quick update.  Peanut’s party was wonderful.  We had it at the skating rink and there were about 50 people there.  She had the biggest time and danced, but did very little skating.  She had said all along that she wanted a Tinkerbell party.  So I found the cutest cake at Publix and she said that was the one she wanted.  It was huge.  I was so scared that this cake was going to fall over, I drove like my daddy all the way home.  It made it to the party and Jessie secured it more when we got there and left the back sides of the box still up, just in case.  It never did fall and it tasted delicious.peanut-3rd-birthday-038

The rest of March

So I covered the party already.  Most of the rest of the month was uneventful, except for this…dirty-little-pig

Yes, its mud.

Lowegan had some friends over to play x-box.  We were all outside at one time and Peanut went over to our neighbors.  I went with her then she went back to my house with the boys.  A few minutes later, she comes running down the hill looking like this.  She had taken a pot of dirt and mixed it in a hole of water and smeared it on herself and my french doors and the chairs on my deck.  Everything was filthy.  When I got back to my house, she was screaming in the garage.  The boys were trying to keep her out of the house and she was determined to come in.  I had to strip her down out there in order to let her back in my house.  When I showed Shane the pictures he said “What kind of mother would make her baby stay in these muddy clothes just to take pictures” I said “what kind of mother would not document this mess for some possible blackmail someday?”

I had to give her two baths that night.

Not much to say……..

but I thought I better post before I get ripped again.

I went to the eye dr. on Thursday and he said that this blur in my left eye is a viterous floater.  I don’t know what that means but it is truely aggravating.  I started seeing a spark in my eye when I turned it to the left, then I started seeing what I called a thread.  Shane kept saying, “it’s just your hair”.  MEN.  Anyway, I put it off for about a week and a half and finally I went.  There is nothing they really want to do about it now.  I guess if it gets bad enough they can do laser surgery.  He said to call immediately if the sparks got worse and I thought there were knats in my vision.  It feels like there is something on my contact and I can’t blink it off.  I got me some new contacts and I can see great now.

Yesterday we went to the beginner skating at Happy J.  Peanut is on this kick and wants to go all the time.  So I put her on the little skates that go over your shoes and she did not even go around one time till she started kicking them off.  Lowe and I got to skate a bunch and Peanut just ran around the place.  She wears herself out doing that, thankfully.  So when we got home, she was ready for her nap and I got to read.  I am back to Bella’s part again of the last book.  I am so shocked with how this book is progressing.  I want to finish it tonight, but I know that my family won’t let me.

Not going to do much more today.  We went to Sunday School and Church this morning and then played outside for a while. It is actually warm here today 64 degrees right now.  So Lowe got to ride his scooter and Peanut just ran.  I have a roast in the crock pot so I am just gonna lay on the couch and read and relax today.

Hope everyone else is being lazy today.dsc_0351

Yes, it has been forever

since I blogged.  Thanks for the reminder.  I will try to do better.  I’ll give a quick update.

My Uncle Billy passed away suddenly on December 17.  He was my grandaddy’s only brother.   His esophagus ruptured on that Monday morning and he never regained conciousness.  So sad.  His oldest 3 children had just buried their mother 5 weeks before.

Christmas was very exciting.  While at the Cothron family gathering on Christmas eve, Lowe passed out and cut right below his eye open.  So we spent the most part of the night in the ER in Trousdale County, not exactly the nicest hospital in Middle Tenn, but it was the closest.  He got about 7 stitches in his face and looked pretty pitiful.  I got me some more gray hair.   I took him to his pediatrician but he had changed offices and we only got to see a PA there and they were so inept that I fired them and took him to Peanut’s doctor at Summit.  They were more concerned at finding out why he had this episode and sent him for a 2 hour glucose test and some other blood work.  All of this came back okay and then she sent him to a cardiologist.  They did an EKG and an ultrasound and said that his heart was fine.  So we still have no answers.

Peanut is finally potty trained.  She just decided on her own that it was time.  She keeps us all on our toes still.  When she is about to get in big trouble, she’ll tell you “I’m just Peanut”, like that’s gonna get her out of trouble.

Holliman Law Firm started closing on Thursdays as of January 1.  So far, I have spent all those days in the dr’s offices.  Tomorrow is no different, I have a dentist appt then an eye dr. appt, so I have to get up earlier than I would if I were going to work.

Shane and I went with a bunch of friends to see Rodney Carrington.  It was so funny.  I did not know who the man was before then and lots of it was pretty dirty, but we had a great time and went out to eat at Chili’s.  Lowe and Lauren got to spend the night with my Daddy and Brenda so they really enjoyed themselves also.

I am finally getting to read some.  I am on the last Twilight book now and am really anxious to finish it.  Does she finally become a vampire? I am so ready to find out.

Ok, that’s about all I can think of now.  Here’s a picture of Bubbie’s eye and Peanut in her tutu she got for Christmas.

Visiting Santa

2008-december-069is pretty scary.   At least for Peanut it is.  Here she is, the first picture with Santa this year and totally scared to death.  She held on to me for dear life.  I backed up and put Tina in my place and Peanut is holding on to her so tight.

2008-december-072

I finally had to make Tina move after about 4 pictures and got this one.  Not so good.  Santa kept talking to Peanut and we finally got her to talk back and I got an okay picture.

After that, it was cookie baking day at Jessie’s.  We went up there and made a whole bunch of sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies.

2008-december-094

She likes to lick off the icing.

Then we went to visit with Mack and Dot to deliver cookies.  Peanut wanted to see the horses so they walked up to Debbie’s house to deliver more cookies.

Yes, the back of her overalls say “HoHoHo”.  They are too cute.

It was a great day.

Gingerbread house

266357773210_0_alb

Thanksgiving was good.  This year we had it at my house again.  Grandma and Ernestine came.  It was a small gathering, but we had good food.  I felt terrible all day and don’t know what was wrong, I was just weak.  Peanut and I took a 2 hour nap.  Shane went in to work that night.  Grandma called me panicking that night and her Christmas tree had fell over and broke her favorite ornament that Lowegan had gotten for her years ago.  We went up there and set it up and cleaned up the mess.  I went that next morning to Wal Mart and got her a prelit tree.  I did get up and go early because Shane gets off at 6:00 and I wanted to be back before the children woke up.  I never do that, but I lived thru it this time.  When I got home, Peanut was all snuggled up with Shane and it was so sweet.  She slept till nearly 9:00 when I finally woke her up.

Today, Grandma was wanting to go to Lebanon so Peanut and I took her down there and got her shopping finshed up.  I bought a gingerbread house kit.  When we got home, Peanut bugged the fire out of me till we “build it”.  I had never tried this before so it turned out pretty good for us beginners.  It’s definately worth the $9.00 and lots of fun for all of us.

So, what do you think of our work of art?

New PJ’s

nut-tree

Peanut had to wear her new Tinkerbell PJ’s tonight.  We have our skinny tree up, but that’s all I could talk Shane into getting down from the attic.  The rest of our decorations including our ornaments are up there.  Hopefully we can get him to get them down soon.
